A weekend in Chelsea and Fulham: How to spend two glamorous days in the capital
As you’d expect, these upscale areas of the city are home to myriad high-end hotels, elegant restaurants and cafés, sophisticated boutiques and art galleries.
When it comes to London’s most affluent neighbourhoods, Chelsea and Fulham are up there with the best of them, and if you’re looking to spend a weekend in the capital, then basing yourself here is an excellent move.
As you’d expect, these upscale areas of the city are home to myriad high-end hotels, elegant restaurants and cafés, sophisticated boutiques and art galleries, offering all you need for a thoroughly luxurious break with easy access to all of the capital’s highlights.
Here, we take a look at how to enjoy a slow and indulgent yet thoroughly enjoyable weekend here, packing all of the best places to eat, plus the top things to do and see.
Saturday: Shopping on King’s Road and exploring Chelsea’s highlights

The historic King’s Road is one of Chelsea’s biggest draws, and for luxury shopping enthusiasts, it’s heaven on earth. Home to a diverse array of designer and premium boutiques including Parisian-inspired fashion haven Claudie Pierlot and luxury cashmere retailer Eric Bompard, you could easily while away an entire day perusing at your leisure. For beauty enthusiasts, you’ll find Space NK, Aesop and Jo Malone London stores along here, too – while for homeware and gifts, be sure to stop in at Anthropologie or the White Company.
The iconic King’s Road was once synonymous with London’s 1960s and 1970s counterculture, but today it’s one of its trendiest and most elevated spots to spend a weekend. Save some time to wander through the famous Duke of York Square, browse the Saatchi Gallery and sit and people-watch over a coffee in one of the many stylish cafés you’ll pass along the way.
Book a table at Bluebird Chelsea for a long, leisurely lunch; you’ll need some rest after all that shopping. Think modern European cuisine with a British twist, and relaxed, brasserie-style dining. Or, for something special, head to Restaurant Gordon Ramsay on nearby Royal Hospital Road for a show-stopping three-Michelin-starred dining experience that is certain to impress.
After such a busy morning, escape the hustle and bustle by heading to Chelsea Physic Garden, where you can wander amidst the greenery and admire the array of medicinal and edible plants that are grown here. Grab yourself a matcha to take with you, and take your time; it offers some welcome respite from the throng of the city, and feels almost like stepping into another world.
If you opted for the more laid-back lunch option, then dinner at two Michelin-starred Claude Bosi at Bibendum on Fulham Road, or one-starred Elystan Street – found on the street of the same name – is a must. The former serves up decadent contemporary French cuisine in the historic Michelin House building, while the latter offers modern British cooking and menus that change with the seasons.
For post-dinner cocktails, end the evening at The Chelsea Bar in Cadogan Gardens or head back to the King’s Road to Beaufort Chelsea. Both offer an intimate and elegant setting, but Beaufort Chelsea’s has its own Champagne bar, making it the ideal choice for rounding off the evening in style.
Sunday: Fulham, football and a stroll in the park

If all that shopping yesterday was a trade off for a visit to Stamford Bridge for a football fan partner – or if you’re a Chelsea FC enthusiast yourself – then Sunday is the perfect day to go and catch a match.
But first, head to Fulham Road for a leisurely breakfast at one of its many independent cafés; the atmosphere here feels distinctly local and is particularly appealing on a Sunday, with lots of great pubs and lunch spots to choose from – but it’s at its best in the mornings before it gets too busy.
Once you’re done, make your way over to the stadium, where the match day atmosphere is certain to be electric. Be sure to have booked yourself a VIP hospitality package in advance to ensure you get to take in every moment of the action in style, and with privileged views from the best seats in the house.
There are a variety of packages to choose from, but the most exciting include time to wander around the club museum and take in the history and success of the team over the years; private behind-the-scenes tours at Stamford Bridge; and even meet-and-greets with some of Chelsea F.C’s top players; a unique experience you’ll never forget.
Afterwards, round the day off with a relaxed Sunday stroll around leafy Bishop’s Park, and a relaxed dinner back at your hotel.
Where to stay
Lyf Chelsea London – lyf’s new hotel at Stamford Bridge – opened its doors on 30 September 2026 and is the ideal place to stay for a weekend in Chelsea and Fulham.
With the stadium right on your doorstep and easy access to all of the highlights of both neighbourhoods, this new hotel from The Ascott Limited is the ideal base for city explorers and football fans alike
